hahahahah my post has been hijacked!

MT MODS, you guys noodle fail. you noodle fail hard. why delete one of the groups here, that isnt inactive in a sea of dead groups thanks to your now awesome community that everyone ditched? good job, more reasons for people who have anything to offer to leave. you can be happy knowing that soon, MT will seriously be free of all wallers and doujin artists that give a rainbow.
congrats for deleting the group too and not even noodleing informing us. but no worries, not like we had anything on there we didn't save or backup in the rare scenario that a great mod would delete it for no good reason.

--MOD EDIT- crap, think of the children!--

yea....its harder then i imagined it would be. Id say 3 or so of them are very obvious (my own included), but the others i have no idea....

f

hmm this sounds interesting, i think ill try to take part

f

ahha oh man, i actualyl so forgot about this. ill deifnitely submit something soon for it actually

f

after reading tama's post just now, im more interested in participating as it isnt solely isolated to inspiration from wallers. ahha ah...id liked to participate but given my recent walling output, I have a feeling I may never get around to it. after i start school ill probably have a better idea if i can or not so guess count me in for now...

f

maybe we should have less teams as there are so few people?

f

here you go guys, another album to dl, this one is from SCLL and is "Trace". Its sorta like lo-fi, similar somewhat to artists like Salyu (Lily Chou Chou), Azure Ray, etc.

f

i say just do it and see what happens. the AP thing doesnt even have concrete rules right now, and from what i know....its suppose to be ongoing

f

just a comment but, thought maybe knives would be a good addition to that list. he was probably one of my biggest influence back in the day when i did grungey type stuff.

f

sounds cool but...im kinda curious...how many old wallers are still aroudn actually? not really wallers per se, but those who are knowledgable enough to write about some of those people. I pretty much figured most of the old folk are long gone now......
i mean damn...i can maybe think of about 4-5 people who were here since MT opened and are still active.....not a whole lot...

hahah and wow some of the names on that list bring back memories......so nostalgic. uh......

f

heres the 2nd album for you guys:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=H87Q09JG
i made a GB post too, also can someone like put these links on the group page as i dont know html. that why all the old links can still be used.

f

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=K3LO56ZT

as i said in the GB, drop a comment if you download it and if you have any thoughts/opinions on what you hear. otherwise....ill assume no one really cared and i wont do this again. if enough people respond ill try to post an album every week randomly here by my choosing.

f

as the title says, and i said in my gb post, Dir En Grey will tour here in the states on a fairly large scale tour with KoRn, Deftones, Stone Sour, and Flyleaf so for those who wanted to see them and didnt get the chance, this is the perfect opportunity. tickets arent on sale yet but you probably dont need to worry too much about it selling out as it sounds like they will be hitting big venues. Also, to note, Dir En Grey, is part of the MAIN lineup, this means they will be up on stage with the rest of these huge american acts whether your a fan of them or not, this is insane in terms of how much coverage they will get here stateside. anyways, full article on it here:
http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1528963/20060418/korn.jhtml?headlines=true

and also in connection, Withering to Death will be released stateside and is up for preorder on most of the major retailers:

f

i dont use it and always thought it was a stupid idea no offense. since if people are just gonna browse, itd be nice to tihnk that everyone's work is included regardless if it is good or not. i tihnk a system like this just discourages new wallers and such from being noticed, but thats just my opinion

f

alright cool! ill inform you when the next ones occur.

alright guys i made a group to make things a crapload easier. everytihng you need to know will be there so try to post there instead of here.
http://the-planning-board.minitokyo.net/

also ill upload the albums as soon as i can. im thinking the official start day will be something like thurs-fri and youll have roughly a month to finish

f

since more people then i thought would sign up, were gonna do two albums this time at least. and cause i want to get this going i just decided to go with the only two albums that were at least seconded by someone else:
Oh Brother Where Art Thou Soundtrack
Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon

and just a note, some of you nominated artists. just to inform you that pretty much doesnt do much for this since we were looking for "album" ideas hence why even though some people were mentioned more then once, no album was given in addition so they were not counted. also, if theres any probs feel free to ask me or tell me about it. and if everything is all cool, then these are the two we will go with and you will all have aobut a month to do the wall.

ill post the guidelines and general info youll need to know in the first post, also ill send out a pm too for the ones that are too lazy to check this.

f

ok added you smilebit to the list up top. haha and jurassic five, that could be interesting and quite challenging actually

and also people, how should we decide on an album? i posted two possible ways in a post above. since its not a contest anymore i kinda feel its not right for me to just pick something for the rest of you guys to do so yea, if you guys have any ideas plz tell.

f

haha yea...i doubt we would get 18 wallers anyways. ok so to clarify,
candy-chan
boogybro
cyd84
devildude
wootazn
gid
nageni
flyindreams
...and me

so thats 8, if i forget anyone plz tell and if anyone mentioned isnt doin it also. alright i think its time to pick an album then and get this crap going!

so any ideas on how we should vote or pick? id say we could either do nominations like weve been doing, and do a vote or we can do it another way. could do something like members take turns picking an album, and if it gets oked by a good majority of the rest we do that. i say this method only cause it would insure that we all are not simply doing stuff on music we all already are familiar with. this way, we can all at somepoint be exposed to music we are unfamiliar with.

f

woot the reason why i didnt want to do a contest is i hate competition, and for the most part quality isnt that much of a concern since this is just for fun. and not to sound mean but if you dont feel motivated to participate, dont. nothing wrong with it or just participate in the ones that sound interesting for example.

also candy bob was just an example but being homogeneous isnt a bad tihng. an album should have a consistent theme sometimes and if that wasnt the case, it would be no different then everyone just doing whatever song or music they wanted. and also, not all the tracks need to be taken, as i said before its only for the ones who want to do it. so if that happens to be only 5 or so people, then thats it. haha also beatles and stripes, good choices!

haha and yea gid sorry if it seems like i stole the idea. hehe i did credit you and i thought it was an awesome idea. anyways indeed on the oh brother where art thou ost. and pink floyd was actually the one rock pick i had in mind ha.

anyways, glad you guys want to do it and are interested.

f

ok i tihnk im gonna finalize this and just get it going.

first of all, im tihnking of converting it from a contest to a project.
no judging, no competion. purely for the fun of doing it now

so how im tihnking it can work is, its not a one time deal. it can or cannot be repeated as many times as people want and the jist of it is, each time it is done, the people who want to participate can get together and decide on an album. then each waller will pick a track and wall it.

and to anwer devildude's question, yea it doesnt have to neccessarily be the character. you can do it however you want. but if you want an idea, the whole point i thought this would be interesting is that people usually try to express some sort of mood or feeling when they make anything, even in walls. and music is aprime example of that. so personally thats what i would be going for but as i said can be any approach you want.

anyways, i need a feel for what you guys thik of this. and if OK'ed possible nominations for an album.
to start off ill name two, one of which was actually already mentioned by me but whatever:
-Bob Marley "Legend"
-Oh Brother Where Art Thou Soundtrack

oh also in terms of people, its essentially just whoever wants to do this but i guess a good number would be around 8-10 at least.

f

yea my plan was to do some genres people arent familiar with, but the thing with a genre like jrock is...well its not a genre of music. since jrock can consist of anything from punk, indie, lofi, to prog. and also, if people drop out just cause they dont like one genre tihs is never gonna work. im kinda doing it to allow people to explore styles they arent familiar with and heck, its one tihng i myself hope to get out of it. anyways, boogy dont wrry about late submitters, cause i wont wait for em. if they cant submit on time, then tough luck.
as for how to do it, im tihnking of doing genres for each round, and creating sort of a pool of songs people can choose from. but if people want, i can do sometihng like, create a pool and also allow people to choose a song they want to do from that genre. in this case, the pool is really for the ones that arent familiar with the genre.
the other idea which i like, but i dont think others will is, instead of doing genres, do albums. for ex. one round could be: people wall tracks off of Bob Marley "Legend".

f

hmm im thinking the genre thing is a good idea, so i guess anything works doesnt have to be just english.

f

hah yea that too i guess...so anyone interested in either participating or helping out with planning and such please post....
